Sporty granny and her 85th birthday
This cake was for my friends great Aunt, who was turning 85 years old. The brief was too include all her favourite sports she played over the year, this included softball, bowls, golf, and hockey. I created a fondant Mary in her bowling whites sitting onto of a chocolate chip banana cake. Check it out on Instagram and here.
The cake is adored with handmade Fondant sporting equipment, buttercream is piped as grass on the top of the cake and a hand cut 85 proudly sits on the top.
The Cake
The cake is a triple layer choc chip banana cake, smothered in delicious chocolate cream cheese frosting. Yum!
The cakeboard is covered in green marbled fondant, to give it that 'grass' effect.
